In addition to accepting ad hoc instructions, we also offer clients an ongoing retainer service. The purpose of the retainer service is to ensure that organisations are one step ahead of the game by maintaining a managerial system which meets or exceeds the requirements of the SRA Handbook (and which meets the Specialist Quality Mark or the Law Society’s Lexcel Standard) in addition to any Legal Aid Agency requirements where the organisation holds a legal aid contract. This leaves the organisation with a feeling of control and able to concentrate on fee earning. The service includes an agreed number of visits to the client’s offices each year. Retainer clients also benefit from ongoing advice and assistance on compliance issues and major reforms being introduced.

Regulatory Audits & Investigations
We have successfully assisted individuals and law firms over the past ten years to resolve difficulties experienced with the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal (SDT) and the SRA. We advise on all aspects of practice management and regulatory compliance and regularly advise and represent firms before tribunals and adjudicators.
Some firms instruct us when they are faced with an upcoming audit or are having to negotiate with or make representations to the SRA or SDT following an audit or investigation. Many firms also instruct us before they are threatened with an audit and so ensure that they are properly compliant with the SRA Code of Conduct and Handbook before external issues arise.
