Update on LAA Financial Survey

The Law Society and LAPG have established that the LAA’s survey exercise is voluntary. This was not clear from the LAA’s emails. LAPG this morning have said:

‘During yesterday’s call we asked the LAA directly whether it is compulsory for providers to respond.  David Thomas, the LAA’s Head of Contract Management & Assurance, confirmed that responding is optional. He stated that the LAA is trying to engage with providers in order to understand the financial and service delivery impact of the COVID-19 crisis and that they appreciate any feedback that they get.  David Thomas explained that the LAA is requesting this information to inform their discussions with the MOJ and Treasury as to whether the financial relief provisions already available are sufficient or, if not, what more can be done to support the sector.’
