Role and Background
We welcomed Raquel to our office based team in February 2025. Raquel supports law firms to achieve and maintain industry-leading quality standards including SQM, Lexcel and CQS accreditations.
In addition, Raquel guides firms through the SRA authorisation process and provides strategic oversight on compliance with the SRA Standards and Regulations, Data Protection (UK GDPR) and the Anti Money Laundering and Terrorist Finance (AML) Regulations. Her work ensures robust financial crime prevention frameworks are embedded across client’s operations.
Raquel collaborates closely with firms to design, implement, and enhance AML frameworks tailored to their unique risk profile. She leads the development and maintenance of AML/CTF policies, procedures, and Firm Wide Risk Assessments, empowering firms to meet evolving regulatory requirements and strengthen their organisational resilience. She also prepares clients for a SRA desk-based review (DBRs) and SRA AML investigations, providing expert guidance to ensure ongoing compliance with legal and regulatory obligations, and delivering actionable solutions to address any identified risks or deficiencies.
Prior to joining DG Legal, Raquel spent time working at another compliance and consultancy services provider in London.
