Our Specialist Quality Mark (SQM) Standard Training Requirements Course is delivered as an inhouse course to firms covers these key topics to ensure compliance with the SQM standard and other regulations, including:
- The SRA’s Standards and Regulations
- Data Protection Act 2018 (DPA) and the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR)
- Bribery Act 2010
- Proceeds of Crime Act 2002

Comprehensive and up to date course notes will be provided to all delegates which may be useful for ongoing reference or cascade training. A recording of the training session will be provided to the firm and will be available to view for 28 days.

Speakers
Amie Higgins, Consultant, DG LegalAmie is a Senior Solicitor, admitted to the Roll in 2008, and a qualified non-practising Barrister, called to the Bar in 2005. Amie previously set up and managed her own firm with twenty three staff, providing her with invaluable practical experience of issues faced by firms. Amie was responsible for ensuring the firm's staff received the training they required, and she has since become an experienced trainer, delivering a range of training on both legal and practice management topics.
Paul Wightman, Consultant, DG LegalA qualified barrister, Paul graduated in Law from Birmingham University and was called to the Bar in 1994. He subsequently spent almost 20 years working for the Law Society of England and Wales, initially within the Office for the Supervision of Solicitors, then the Legal Complaints Service (LCS), and ultimately the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA). Paul is adept at undertaking audits and providing succinct reports on areas for improvement and can assist firms with advice on all aspects of SRA compliance and Anti-Money Laundering procedures.
